Change the Hostname of a Device via CW RMM

Below will run you through how to Deploy a script to change a hostname of the machine, this example runs through deploying the script now, but you should always be cautious of when to run the script / schedule it.

Go to ConnectWise Dashboard > Endpoints > Devices

Select desired computer then click Run > Custom > Change Hostname

Enter the new hostname you would like

Click Run Later then scheduled the task execution

It is highly recommended to schedule outside of work hours to avoid disrupting the staff / doctor’s workflow. However, your judgement is key to when a script should be ran.

How to find a schdueled task?

Click on the Device you scheduled a automation [script] for

On the sub heading list click on Automation

On the far right you will see Scheduled Tasks
